As you know, I have been campaigning virtually to abide by the Province of Alberta COVID restrictions. This means no outdoor gatherings with individuals outside my household since December 8th; which translates to no knocking on doors, or live community events for me or my volunteers. While there was some slight easing on Jan 18th and again today, these restrictions are in place to protect our citizens, health care workers and health care systems. The sacrifices made by so many Calgarians are resulting in decreases in hospitalization rates, positive cases and fatalities. This in turn, results in easing of restrictions so necessary to restore our economy and social interactions.
I respect these guidelines, which means I have not been campaigning in person out in the community, putting anyone at risk. When the health officials ease restrictions, I look forward to meeting many of you in person.
This is the kind of behaviour you can expect from me as your elected council member for Ward 12; ethical, respectful and transparent. I encourage you to expect the same from other Ward 12 candidates.
