I made the case back in January for running the Green Line south to Seton rather than north across the Bow River up to 16th Ave. At the time, funding approval and planning were at a standstill. This pause in the progress was because the plan just didn't make sense. Since then the plan changed to a more sensible one, more closely resembling what I had proposed. Today, announcements were made by the federal and provincial governments that funding is approved and construction can begin this fall on Phase 1.
My work is not yet done and will continue. I will continue my push to have Phase 2 bring the line to Seton rather than cross the river to the north. As I outlined in my previous post, there are a lot of good reasons for doing so. By providing a voice of reason on city council I will work to move us forward in a responsible manner.
